    I just bought 4gb RAM, 2x 2GB.
I installed one chip in the bottom of my laptop.
Then i took the keyboard off for the first time because i figured that would be where the other slot is. But... i dont see another slot.
Can anyone confirm that the other ram is soldered into my motherboard? (towards the right)
Or am i just missing something? (need to strip it down further?)

I guess it would depend on your laptop model. Normally you add memory by opening some sort of compartment underneath the laptop. In some cases it could be undeneath the keyboard. You should consult your laptop's user manual. That should give you some sort of idea how much memory your laptop can handle.

Ya, your suspicions are correct. Looks like it's soldered.

My laptop manual doesnt say anyhting about adding RAM. and its all in Chinese. and the website doesnt have anyhting either...

I opened all the compartements on the bottom and only found 1 slot for ram, which is why i figured the other one must be under the keyboard like many other manufactures do.

SISoft Sandra said it was upgradable to 4gb, and that I had 2 slots... but i guess it cant tell if they are removable slots or not?

    it is a Haier W36.

Ive done quite a bit of googling and finding info is a bit difficult. Maybe someone else might have better luck than I did.
