This morning I turned on my notebook and put the volume on to find it was ine 'headphone' mode. Well, I went to disable it thinking 'gee, that'll due the trick.' Instead I managed to make that disapear all together when I hit 'disable' and now something called SPDIF (Digital Out via HP Dock) (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) is my main source for volume.

    I'm not getting any volume.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium if that matters at all.

Go to the IDT control pannel and under speakers and dual headphones and not the one which is independant speakers ... click the box which says make this.. your default device or something like that. This should work.
