I have actually done that too :D
Lifted backend of my laptop, did make some new feets :D Better airflow, lower tempratures.

But, I do want to use that last PCI slot, however, anyone know anything about better WiFi antennas? I've read something about carbonfiber antenneas, how are those anyone use it?

Hahahaha, those were actually a bit interesting :) But however, I need a backlit keyboard but my model were never deliverd with one. I need to find a way to make it work.. and for the 3 or 4G I do have my HTC with me everytime, it could not be easier to use it as hotspot :)
Any other options about mini pci express?

I have my remote controll laying in there, which I do use very often. It is a great idea! I actually bought one extra of those :D I did never ever use it on my Qosmio, because it could only control volume, but now it can do everything from wake up my computer from sleep to open Winamp, to change tracks, adjust volume, stop the movie, pause the movie and so on! This is maybe the most used part on my laptop, espessally if I'm at my gf's place, or the other way around :)

I do have the Gimp Sleeve Special edition, which is kind of nice. And I do use it with my Golla bag :)

Screen? Get a nice matte or higher resolution screen but check to see if your GPU can handle higher resolution gaming before attempting the upgrade.

That could be intresting. But I've have that infitiy display or what HP call it. However, my model does not support FHD. My 14" thinkpad had 1440x900. I think I'll ask this is HP section if anyone have sucessfully upgraded. I've also wonder if I can put a QX9300 in this thing :D But I'm quite sure this thing will blow up :D

I was originally going to get a QX9300 (2.53GHz), but I settled for a Q9200 (2.4GHz) because an ES Q9200 was about half the price of an ES QX9300. It's only a 153MHz difference.

If you get an ES Q9200, be sure it's not a QAJF as those do not have temperature sensors. Mine's a QAVR, and I'm still waiting for it to arrive so I can install it. QAVRs have unlocked multipliers too, so a lot of people call them the QX9200, though you won't be able to utilize that and neither will I.

I see. I really wanted a QX9300 back when I had my Qosmio running, but now I do have another laptop with same chipset, only question is if there is any BIOS limitations and if my current laptop will takle the heat, which I belive it will but other dv5 owners won't.
