I'm no Business Analyst but AMD should probably spinoff the Radeon Division

I think the inherent marketing assumptions that nVidia GPUs will be mated to Intel Platforms because AMD is nVidia's chief competitor in the GPU space hurts AMDs Processor division in a number of marketing scenarios from enthusiast systems to business class laptops which tend to spell out that X generation of nV GPUs go to Y generation of Intel Platforms and AMD isn't even mentioned

AMDs GPU business also suffers from the marketing assumption that Intel procs will be used with nV GPUs because AMD is Intel's chief competitor in the x86 space so you can guarantee any Intel proc ads that mention a GPU will specify nVs latest and greatest as of Press time

In effect AMD's much larger competitors functionally cross promote each others tech because there are only 2 options in each market segment and AMD is the other option in both market segments and the compound effect isn't good for Radeon or Athlon/Zen in terms of Mind Share

AMD should obviously license Radeon IP for it's iGPUs and custom platforms like what XB1 and PS4

A split would mean allow greater focus in individual areas

You do realize they did that years ago and Intel are partnered with Radeon Technologies Group to add Radeon iGPUs to Intel platforms in the future, correct?

The way I understand it Intel made that deal to avoid nVidia GPU IP disputes as nV owns much of the conceptual tech for GPUs and can be quite litigious

Doubtful, they probably did it to save resources due to Free-sync and GPU Open being more accessible for everyone at lower barriers to entry.

AMD sell off their graphics division? They should call it Array Technologies Inc ;p

Highly unlikely - it's their primary source of income on the general consumer end.
