2 ways:
1) download the driver from the manufacturer's site (VGN?)
or
2) download a driver from laptopvideo2go
Method 1 is probably easier. -
I tried but I couldn't find my driver...
-
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us choose the 8m series driver and you os. should be good to go after that. -
the first attachment is what happened when I downloaded the file from the site you gave me nizzy1115. The second attachment is from the site you gave me aan310...I don't know how to solve this...

i dont think he deleted your graphics driver.
It looks like he shut off hardware acceleration.
To set this back,
right click the desktop.
go to properties
than go to settings tab
than click "advanced"
go to the troubleshoot tab
and their should be a slider labeled "hardware acceleration"
turn that to full, and select "apply"
and ok

Thats a good tip ktron but it looks like he is using vista. I dont know where the settings are in vista though.

You could try a restore to a eariler version, Program files>>Accessories>>System tool>>System restore, from there just pick a date before your bro done a number on the laptop!
-
She. And yes, I am using vista. I just want to know if this is fixable...Is it?
-
I tried that. I couldn't find a system restore time that went back that far.

Just try any day last week, just back up any work you'd done to a flash drive

You'll need to go to the Sony support website and download the drivers from there. Like Dell does w/ integrated graphics based systems, Sony locks down the drivers some how, even w/ dedicated graphics.
Here's a link to the Driver's page for your notebook: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGN-FZ190E®ion_id=1
Click the "Video" link, then download and install "Original-nVidia Display Drivers"
Also, in Windows Vista, you can access the Hardware Acceleration settings by right clicking on the desktop and clicking "Personalize." From there click on "Display Settings" then the "Advanced Settings" button. Switch to the "Troubleshoot" tab then choose "Change Settings." -
If the driver was deleted, have you tried going into Device Manager and using 'Roll back driver' for the gpu?
If not, try that.
Otherwise, go to your gpu's manuf. website (Nvidia or Ati) and download drivers for your OS (whichever it is) . -
Just catch the correct drivers and install them and you're good to go.
It looks like you've downloaded the wrong driver from nvidia.com before though.
The latest drivers should work fine for you.
Try these: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_179.28_beta.html -
