While customizing a clevo notebook im stuck between these two cpu's:
I5 4200m dual core 2.5ghz-3.1ghz mb cache 37 watt
I7 4700mq quad core 2.4ghz-3.4ghz 6mb cache 47 watt
The I7 costs 100 more and im wondering if it's worth is, is there a lot of difference in performance when gaming?

IT depends mostly on what games you're playing, but from what I've seen a decent number of modern AAA titles will benefit from having a quad-core or better (RTS games, Rockstar stuff, BF4, etc.). The i5 can play these CPU-intensive games well enough, but you'll gain performance with the i7 quad.

This thread pretty much covers it. In most games, the i5 4200M can keep up with the i7-4800MQ. This being said, if you do some non-gaming intensive tasks like video editing, get the quad. Also some games like Planetside 2 still require a quad to be able to be played optimally. -
What is your set up? Are you pushing your budget already and would need the 100 euro upgrade over that? Because there could be some upgrades you might not need. Could you post all specs of the laptop you are looking at as you would like to buy it?
I5 4200m or I7 4700mq
