I am wondering if IBM thinkpad notebooks can be upgraded with a barebones kit of some kind. I need them for school and came accross several of these in the cases but missing hard drive and cdrom. Is there such a thing as a barebones for one of these? I don't want to put 100 speed stuff back in it! that's pointless!

Appreciate any help that can be offered. Buying a new one is not an option for us.

If your funds are limited I don't think you'd be able to do this. You'd need to pay at least something.

Yeh, I think you should be able to upgrade an IBM thinkpad - not my choice of notebook but they are pretty common.
