I got an IBM R40 2722 with an existing Banias M-705 1,5 GHz.

Now i bought a M-765 2,1 GHz Dothan CPU for replacing my old cpu.

After installing the new processor, the notebook will not boot anymore.

As far as I see, the bios does not recognize the cpu. But a already got the newest bios from the IBM website.

Is there any patch or beta Bios for getting the Dothan CPU working in an IBM R40?

    Thank you...

Highly unlikely. Although somone might mod the BIOS, but you wont get one from IBM.

I have seen many failed Banias to Dothan upgrades.

You might want to check over at ThinkPads.com forums. If someone has done it they'll be over there.
