So far upgrade my IBM R50e with a 256 GB SSD!

It is so much faster now! It also has 2 GB of ram.

My question is can I go to a larger SSD in the future and does my laptop support than one hard drive ?

You can go to a larger SSD. But why not take the money for a larger SSD and upgrade the whole laptop to a newer one that supports more RAM? A 2GB max is very low these days.
It has an Ultrabay Enhanced, so you can have more than one hard drive.
