    I have an IBM T43P ThinkPad 2668-6GU notebook with a Toshiba MK8032GAX (4200 RPM 75GB) hard drive.

    I'm looking to upgrade to a larger, faster hard drive (100-160GB). Should I go with the Seagate / Momentus 5400.3 / 160GB / 5400 / 8MB / 2.5" Mobile / OEM / Hard Drive (5-yr. warranty) or the Hitachi / TravelStar 7K100 / 100GB / 7200 / 8MB / IDE / 2.5" Mobile / OEM / Hard Drive (3-year warranty) or other???

Would a 7200 RPM drive generate too much heat and use too much battery life?

    Thanks

They both will be around the same access speed, I'd go for the 5400 for the space, unless you really need that extra few seconds.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Brad
