Do any other laptops have a feature similar (in function) to the IBM ThinkLight? Even a glowing keyboard or something? Or is IBM the only one?

I believe the macbook pro offers a back lit keyboard ... other than that, no, nothing that I can think of.

You can always get a little USB LED light if you need a little something for the keys.

I believe Dell's Latitude has a red thinklight and HP's business line has one also.

I can't find it on my D630 either :) I think you might be thinking of another brand.

I think the Latitude ATG series has the keyboard light.

I know my D630 actually has the button for the light but no light itself.

It's not a keyboard light in the traditional sense (backlit), rather it's some LED attached to the top of the LCD screen.

The 8510 series atleast does not have the light. I liked that feature of my ThinkPad as well. Oh well, the gains outweigh the losses in my case.

Oops, it was the ATG Latitude. I was reading the review about it and assumed both had it.

My bad on the hp business notebook, I thought it also had a light for some reason.

As for the thinklight on the newer T61 I found it to dim to be used in most situations. Only time I would think it helps is if you have your screen set extremely dim in pitch dark conditions.

Knowing how to touch type also helps, reduces the need to look down ;)
