So, the SRS Tru-bass setting asks for what my speak size is in the settings. i have 2 10-watt satellites and 30-watt subwoofer. so would these be considered small, medium or large? the sound is good on 'small', but a little clearer on 'medium', but seemingly less rich/full sound. i know nothing about audio. any suggestions?

What's the actual size of the sub? That's what it's referring to.

i looked all over the web and cannot find the size of the sub. all i know is it's 30 watts. the thing about that SRS tru-bass setting, it definitely affects the sound coming out of the satellites as well. the setting on small is more engulfing, richer, a little more distorted, more of the SRS effect. on medium, the sound is much cleaner, but lacking the fullness. i cant decide what is better..
Also- i'm having a hell of a time which setting actually sounds better for movies- the 'movie' setting or the 'music' setting. i'm kind of liking the 'music' setting, even though the dialog is just a tiny bit quiter.
Lastly- i've left the equalizer at the default which is just straight 0's. anyone recommend a good all-purpose setting? is the default good for this purpose? how about for movie watching? -
Just measure the sub with a tape. I'd consider 8 inches to be medium, 4 to be small. If it's in an enclosure, the woofer is usually 3/4 the size of the biggest wall.
It's affecting the satellites because it's changing the LFE frequency based on what you choose the sub size to be. They sound fuller and distort, because they're getting more bass signal. Distorting means they'll be damaged over time, so choosing to that setting isn't the best idea.
