    Hi everyone,
I would like to buy a new gaming laptop.
i would prefer to buy one with an IPS panel. however i've read that IPS panels have a slower response than TN.
Does it mean that there will be more input lag on an IPS panel ?
    thank you for your answers.

I don't think there will be any problems.. The IPS pannels on notebooks don't have as much input lag as an external pannel.. In fact, they're the best option if available as some of the laptop TN pannels are utter junk like the Lenovo Y50's one..

IPS is only slow for G2G (which doesn't matter at all). The rest of the lag time is the same.

Most IPS panels on DTRs are completely fine lag-wise.

Unless you are a Pro Counterstrike gamer, you will probably not notice a difference in input/response lag even if there was a significant one. However, even vision challenged people can immediately spot the difference between an image on an IPS screen vs a TN unit.
Always, always, always get an IPS panel if possible, TN screens are only cheap, they have no place in this world.
If input lag and response time really mattered, the very best pros will use CRT screens.

The smaller laptop IPS screens I've used seem a tad faster in FPS games than the larger desktop IPS screens ...

That said, if you value color brightness/contrast/accuracy and viewing angles? IPS is the easy answer ...

If you play competitive FPS games? I'd go TN for sure ...

    Best of luck..
