Does anyone know where I can find an IPS screen in 17.3 15.5"x8.98". If not, what is the next best option? Like a VA -rgb backlit?
    Have a part number?

Basically I have a Toshiba x775 and want to retrofit this garbage screen that's on it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Most likely won't work since these panels use a different connector than most other screens. You'd need a lot of modification to remove the bezel and customize the interface but if you have the technical know how, you can look into the HP Elitebook 8760w screen to match the dimensions and connection. It won't run on Intel GMA though since it's a 10-bit panel.

Screen fitting isn't the easiest to do.

There are more things than dimensions when looking for screens, see if your laptop uses eDP / LVDS, and match the cable positions, as well as if the cable can support the increased power consumption, etc.

Thank you for the fair warning but my technical prowess is up to speed.
I am looking for a 40 pin left side connector. The only issue I have with sites such as https://www.laptopscreen.com is that they lack description of the type of LED backlighting (rgb, edge, single edge ect), and like you said, watt requirements ect.
Can anyone the type of screen on a g73/g74?

Take a look at panelook.com, it could be helpful. Good luck with your mod :) I know that if there was a 15,4" IPS screen I would try the very same mod, but there isn't :(

    Re: LaptopScreen

Once you do find a panel you like, please PM me to ensure that we do have the specific model. LaptopScreen will send what's available in-stock, which may not be the specific model you are expecting. You can always PM me for physical stock query.

I can make a recommendation for what we do have: LG LP173WF1(TL)(B3), Matte, 1080p - great viewing angles, little backlight bleed, hi-def.

Let me know if you had any other questions.

Can you tell me the difference between the LG LP173WF1(TL)(B3) and the (B4)?
