Hi, I got a T9400 processor which should be able to replaced with a QX9300 as they use the same sockets. Is it possible? My current processor is using socket P (478) according to pc wizard 2008. Also my motherboard is a Quanta 3603. Thanks for the info.

Your motherboard cannot handle the power (and most likely thermal) requirements of a quad cpu. The best cpu you can use is a t9900/p9700.

Yup. It's not really that it can't handle it, but more of that it's not compatible (HP did not make it able to do it).

For HP laptops, you need at least a dv7 model to support quads.

HP, unlike MSI, does not focus on things like high performance and OC.

either way it wont help you. Im guessing you want it for gaming, based on ur previous posts and your system is bottlenecked by the 9600m gt. even if u did buy the quad processor it wouldnt help at all
