Some here have said it already. Allow me to jump on their bandwagon here.

If you're thinking about getting an Intel Turbo Memory module, save the $30. Either spend the money on a 2GB memory DIMM, or put it towards a Sandisk Vaulter disk when it finally becomes available.

I installed an ITM in my laptop last week (specs in sig), and just a few moments ago I ripped it back out. I noticed that it was very inconsistent. Sometimes bootup was noticeably faster. Most times it slowed it down significantly (to the point where the Vista startup sound was stuttering, and it'd take almost 20 seconds for the desktop and wallpaper to appear after logging in).

Yesterday I also noticed my first application issue with the ITM installed. I was doing a photo shoot and I shot almost 8GB worth of RAW camera data. The computer froze up twice on me. Once while I was using the slideshow feature of rawshooter premium (during image transfer to the laptop's HD), the other one was while I was using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3.1 to convert the files to JPG's. The system crashed and froze solid both times. Prior to me installing the ITM, my system's been rock stable and had been extremely fast handling RAW camera data.

Ironically my system's been stable all week since installing the ITM. The trouble started up yesterday. I wasn't doing anything overly stressful with my system all week though (just yesterday). My best guess is that the ITM just doesn't have enough onboard memory for it to be sifting through the large amounts of data files that I generate.

It could be that *MY* system just doesn't work right with the ITM. For the moment though I'd just say that the ITM isn't worth it, and not to bother with it. An 8 or 16GB SanDisk Vaulter disk looks like it'd be worth it though.
