says that my SSD health is ok, like error scan showing 0.0% damaged block, extra test doing good, writing speed is the speed it was supposed to be
does this mean that my SSD is completely functional?
i am asking this, because my new laptop, crash randomly when i am doing stuff
the crash is like, the desktop freeze with like vertical line across the screen
cant move any mouse, cant do anything
now, i went back to the technician guy:
we came up with 3 conclusion
it;s either Ram, SSD or the GPU that is causing it
we tested the RAM with memtest, it was perfect, completed without any problem
then we tested the SSD with HD Tune Pro, everything was ok
the only thing is the GPU, i cant say for sure because playing games are fine
the crash come very randomly, i can go on for 1 day without any crash
but when it wants to crash, it will crash the desktop
i dont know if i should just return my laptop or just ask them to replace my Memory and SSD and god know what the outcome will be, but i just want to know exactly what is causing it
the technician says try to swap my HDD and try changing Memory and use it for a couple of days, but my Laptop return policy is just 3 days left, i need to make decision whether to replace the laptop and hoping it's the GPU
but what do you guys think the crash is coming from?
i'd love to show you guys the picture of my crash, let me just upload it for a minute

ohh and i am sorry for the shakiness of the video, hahah, apology for that
what if it's physical error from any of the device? and that the software cant detect? like a broken chip or something?
---------------
what is the difference of that and HD Tune? -

So what make/model ssd do you have do you have the latest firmware, corsair force ssd had a problem with freezing at random times, it was some sort of chipset conflict, a new firmware fixed the problem for 99% of people.

I'd return the laptop, like now , yesterday, the tests show, ssd and ram okay,,must be the gpu or the screen and some of its components,,either way,, return it and get another,,
Cheers

i am using OCZ Vertex III on Asus U36SD
but if it is the GPU, then why on uBuntu ( which is not using Nvidia due to driver incompatibility, it still crashes? )
because before i installed Windows, i was using uBuntu, and it is using intel IGP
but i got the same crash, i thought it was the new uBuntu 11.04 which is unstable that makes it crash, but when i switched to Windows and i get the same crash, that time i know it's the Hardware
i suspect it's still the SSD, but i dont know. i cant tell, because the crash is so random, i can go on and play Bastion for 3 hours without crashing ( if it's GPU then shouldnt it be able to play at all ? ) -

Pop an hdd in and see if it still crashes, if it does it`s not the ssd.

Yeah return it.
For your curiosity, see if a HDD (cloned) still crashes the system.
But even if it didn't: return it.
Nothing like a lemon system that you can't trust to be stable. -
well yeah i might as well return the laptop because i only have 3 days left for the return policy
thanks guys
oh yeah i have been in safe mode for the whole day now, no crash so far, ( i assume ) because in safe mode the Nvidia is not active?
If HD Tune..
