I was thinking... If I wan't to upgrade my hardrive to a 7200 rpm one, what would be the best brand?? And what's the most effecient capacity to go with the 7200 speed?

Go with any brand that offers low seek time & access time. Larger cache also helps quite a bit. Power consumption might be another aspect to look at, for heat reasons. Best thing is to read others' opinion of hard drives - at a place like newegg.com

I would go with the 100GB units. As for brands, both Seagate and Hitachi are decent. I believe the Hitachi has a slight performance advantage over the Seagate and is cheaper.

Depends, check what connections are for the drive, but assuming you get the same type (SATA or IDE being the normal ones I believe) you should be able to replace it.

Your notebook requires a SATA drive.

Hitachi makes a good deal of ALL notebook hard drives as I understand, and I rarely hear anything bad about Seagate either.

Do you mean, as long as it's SATA it will fit my notebook?

True, the only advantage with the Seagate is warranty, as it is usually longer than the Hitachi.

I've noticed your only mentioning these 2 brands.. Does it mean that these are the Top 2 when it comes to hard drives?

They were the first to bring 7200rpm drives to the notebook market.

Yeah, Any 2.5 Inch SATA HDD will fit your notebook. Larger cache will help with speed. And power consumption and heat dissapation (TDP) levels will be important factors when it comes to battery life.

A 7200 rpm drive will work well with your already excellent system - definitely the 5400 rpm drive is the bottleneck, and the new drive will drop access times noticably. But don't expect a huge difference, perhaps 15-25% improvement in most load times.
