The Dell XPS M1330 offers a 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS for the notebook. My question is can i buy a different video card and put it in myself.

If you can (not soldered to MoBo and MXM compliant) What is going to fit in that small space who is going to sell it to you, and how are going to keep it cool? So even if theoretically possible which I have doubts, realistically NO!

No you can't. I took a peek under the hood and it seems to me that the VGA is integrated on the motherboard and not MXM Type I as I hoped for. *sigh* There goes my hope of replacing GS (64bit, 9.6 GB/s) with GT (128bit, 19.2 GB/s).

Or wait, I didn't remove heatsink/heatpipe thingy. Maybe I should do that to be sure? Here's a link to some speculation on which I based my hopes of GS to GT upgrade. HARDWAREZONE
