New Duty & VAT Calculation | The Duty Calculator

if u got 3k it will definately be enough, but use the calculator I linked to see the exact fee. In th end it would be cheaper/same price to buy one from the uk or get a kobaltcomputers.co.uk laptop..

Yeah I found that after posting this. It seems 3k will be a lot of money for the import tax..

Ouch. It really sucks that you have to get taxed on it and it sucks even more that it is 10%. But there has to be somewhere cheaper to get it where you live, no?

I always advise against importing since any money you save will never make up for the extra time and risk involved with any warranty claim.

Unless you are buying from a company which provides warranty internationally. So say, Asus or Alienware/dell are fine, but you wouldnt want to go for sager unless you in the states.

I must of missed it out in the post, it's a MSI notebook. And I googled it, and I found 2 vendors selling it, one looked like a dodgy website and the other one was a credible source, but no customisation :(

There is also costs for handling that the courier will add on as well but that shouldn't be much.

    Thanks for the link. ;D
    Dident know about that one.

Just ran my soon to be new notebook through that and $1745 + $129 for shipping it totals to 2415 thanks to 25% VAT.
Im still saving some cash as the bluray equipped one sells for $2986 in Norway with crappier specs.
