So i am thinking that i will allow myself $50.00 max to fix this 4 year old Inspiron 1750...perfect condition...

Video PERFECT when output to external Monitor....

Big black bar on Left of screen..

    So far:
took of top case, fiddled with wires, no change.

Most of vendors want 150-200 for LCD screen....will not spend that much..

Are you talking about the Inspiron E1705? Black lines is a defective LCD. If you don't know how to fix it, you have to buy a new LCD.
