Just rebuilt a 5100 and am using a p4 2.8 mobile chip. For whatever reason, the mhz are lockd at 1600. Ram even runs at 133, and im using pc2700 (333). Ive tried many things and im wondering if its just the board? It has the newest bios a32. Here is my post on oc forums so u can see what ive been through. http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=441013 .
Im stuck any ideas / comments welcome :)

I am not familliar with that model, but are you sure it supports 333MHz ram? By the way 133 means you are running at 133x2=266MHz since it's DDR.

Do you know what was the max CPU speed that that model shipped with when it was around? It could be simply that the 2.8GHz is not supported by the BIOS, and simply runs in a safe mode (1.6GHz).

And for all P4s (northwood, and some prescott) the reported speed is the actual speed, as in a 2.8GHz runs at 2.8GHz, nothing like AMDs PR ratting.

Finally give this software a shot: http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml (check other software that they have, there might be something else useful there)
