If you don't have the cash wait till there's another $750 off $1499 + notebooks...

Go with the 1.6 ghz processor Pent M, 30 gig hd, cd burner/dvd reader combo, 64 mb ati x300 card, 256 mb ram, if possible dell wireless card or the intel pro 2200 (whichever is b/g), 9 cell battery....

This will be with the $750 around $800

If you got the I6000 without the dedicated graphics card you can't upgrade the graphics card later. And the ram you can always buy cheaper ram from newegg.com.

If you are really in a bind for money go with the other inspirons with celerons, intergrated graphics and standard screens.

    Dell I6000d
    1.86 ghz
    1 gig 400mhz ram
    80 gig HD
    Intel Pro 2915 a/b/g Wireless
    15.4 " WXGA
    Ati X300 128 mb
    Nec Dvd +- RW 6500A
