Hi all...
I have an inspiron 6000 laptop which has a bad motherboard. I removed the motherboard so as to get some information off of it not to mention it has to come out anyways in order to replace it.
The part number located on the board is OX9237.
My motherboard has ext video on it as I also had to remove the video card from the board.
I located and bought one via ebay which the fellow says is the same part number, but after I paid for it ( has not arrived yet) he tells me it has an integrated video card. Now I don't claim to know all that much about laptops but if his board has the exact same part number as mine wouldnt it have ext video?
Here is a link to the ebay board i bought thinking it was a ext video board...

I then got in touch with dell to confirm and was told this...
According to Dell Support the following have integrated video...
Dell Inspiron 6000 System Board G7730
Dell Inspiron 6000 System Board W9259
Dell Inspiron 6000 System Board C6654
And these do not...
Dell Inspiron 6000 System Board F6402
Dell Inspiron 6000 System Board J7414
Dell Inspiron 6000 System Board X9237
Does anyone have a clear answer to if he listed this wrong or if in fact both boards with and without integrated video have the same part numbers?
I just dont think I can use my video card on the board he is selling.
Thanks.

The Dell Inspiron 6000 X9237 has a proprietary Dell Video card. AKA, the graphics card is on a slot as you mentioned.
Dell part number: F6402
Compatible Dell P/N: X9237
If the video card on the board which you just bough off of ebay has an integrated graphics card than you cannot use your video card with that motherboard. You will be stuck with an integrated graphics card, which is most likely much worse than the dedicated graphics card from your inspiron 6000 board.
If I were you, I would try to send it back to him and get refunded. His board may not even fit into your laptop.
Email the guy you bought it from and have him take a good picture of the board. If its identical to yours than your in luck. If its any different than you cant use it.
Hopefully the guy is just confusing integrated and dedicated, in terms of the graphics card.
