If I wanted to install a built in webcam into a HP dv9700 which doesn’t have one, I know it wouldn’t be that hard to remove the display panel and display bezel, I presume I’d need to run a webcam wire to the newly installed webcam module.
    Two part question,
    1. Would there be a ZIF connector or alike on the system board to receive this webcam wire.
    2. Would a unit that didn’t come with a webcam have a microphone and if not would the microphone have a system board receiver?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You will need a different bezel.

Again I appreciated any help given, but I have those documents at my disposal which do not give any answers to my question. If I go to the trouble of getting a display bezel that supports a webcam , a webcam module & wiring and I'm guessing I'll need a microphone. Is there going to be anything to connect the wiring to, because having to soldering any such connectors to the mobo is beyond my capacity.
