Hey guys, I just got my Gigabyte P35x v5 today, and proceeded to install my Samsung 950 Pro m.2 512gb m.2 SSD. I am having an issue however. I have successfully installed Windows 10 on the SSD, and the computer will boot. However, the 1TB 7200RPM drive won't let me get rid of the EFI partition on it, so whenever it boots, it'll go into the dual boot option. I want to format the entire 1TB disk so it's just pure storage, but disk manager won't let me do that, as it says its system files, EFI Boot record, etc.

Also, my Samsung Pro isn't showing as an nvme device in BIOS, nor in the Boot options, but it boots just fine with it. Any suggestions?

Remove all drives from any platform whenever you're doing a clean install of the O/S. Otherwise, the existing drive will/may be used as the boot drive instead of the new drive you want/think it's on.

Others may tell you that you can fix this in various ways, and yeah; you could.

But I suggest to rather reinstall Windows 10 again with the SSD the only drive installed. But first; run the installer with both drives installed and delete all partitions from both drives. Shut down the computer, remove all power (AC + Battery) and remove the HDD.

Now you can do a proper install with only a single drive installed as the boot/OS/Program drive.

    Good luck.

Finally figured it out. I had tried to do a fresh install originally, but BIOS wasn't picking it up on the USB flash drive. I wasn't formatting it correctly. I now have a fresh install, and crazy speeds on the 950 Pro.

    Thanks for the reply.

Hey, I've got the exact same issue. How did you get the 950 to show up in the BIOS and does yours show up in the NVME table in the BIOS as well?
