So I installed a T9600 on my G50vt-X5 a couple days ago, It does seem like there is a difference in my overall speed, especially loading times, and responsiveness on windows opening, even a little faster while searching the web. BUT it is not worth the $220 for the chip. I noticed a BIG difference in the heat output of my laptop and the temps on the cpu's went from mid-high 30c's to mid to high 50c's.... So I sold the chip and made my money back...Perhaps i'll look into buying a P9800 sometime in the future, but no hurry.....

I guess the 35W TDP catches up with the system, huh? Good to know.
I think the highest P series you'll be able to get is the P9700, which will have a 2.8GHz clockspeed.

    I went from a P8600 to a T9800 and saw a 10° difference.
