My old parent's computer is running Win7 on 1GB, it's fine but it cogs at times.
I want to install at least 2 GBs of RAM.
Would this work?
G.SKILL SQ Series DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5300) 2GB SODIMM Memory (F2-5300CL5S-2GBSQ) | Canada Computers
Or does it have to be a proprietary RAM?
Or should I buy two of these? Newegg.ca - Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model KVR667D2S5/1G

I would open the laptop up and see if both slots are used, if both are used, then buy the second option (two 1GB sticks).
I always install memory in pairs, although it's not required it provides best performance.
