As in the title - how do I install Magician on Windows 8? It tells me it can't be installed on Windows NT 6.1 SP5 or later and then cancels itself out. I've tried 3.1 off the CD that shipped with the drive and 3.2 from a download but I get the same results either way.

Have you tried right clicking and 'run as administrator'?

That didn't work, but it got me on the right track. I should have tried running in Windows 7 compatibility mode from the beginning. I thought about it, but then held off in case it might make something go wrong for some reason.

One of the 'compatibility' modes would have been my next suggestion - glad it worked.

Love Windows - we have lots of ways of getting the results we need/want - just that sometimes, we (almost) forget all our options.
