I was reading a guide on this site about graphics cards and could still not come up with the answers I was looking for. I'm looking at purchasing a Dell D620, but it only comes with IntelĀ® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 950. I do not game nor do I plan to game, however, I do plan to watch DVD's/movies, edit video, and edit images. Will this graphics card show any lack of performance compared to the higher end more expensive graphics cards? Should I consider one of those higher end cards? Thanks.

Unless you're gaming or doing some intensive 3D work like CAD, you won't really miss the dedicated graphics.

I guess it all depends on what programs you will be using. I think the 950 will work perfect for most programs that are not games.

2d rendering (dvds, tv, videos, etc.) are processed by the cpu, not the video card; the 3d realm is where the vidcard matters. as long as you don't need 3d data converted with any type of performance, the integrated card is just fine. it's cheaper, runs cooler and gives you longer battery life too.
