Falkentyne Notebook Prophet
"How many Kidneys do Intel think we have? increased IPC significantly and more cores, probably means price will increase significantly too."
"It's a new architecture, things change. At the same time with the release of these CPUs, Intel's new funding program for consumers will also start to accept livers, lungs, and retinas, in addition to kidneys, to partially help with the purchase of a new CPU." -
None of this looks like it will hit laptops any time soon from my skimming. I'd say around CES 2020 is when we'll finally get higher end laptop BGA CPUs (go ahead and snicker at that) on 10nm. Give or take a quarter.

As usual, they openly admit they've been repackaging Skylake since 2015 only when they are talking about its replacement ;p

I'm currently rocking a Dell 7577 and it's bigger than I want. All I wanted was a cheap laptop with Thunderbolt and ethernet. This was pretty much my only option. =( I might have sprung for the Aero 15X, but I was put off by Gigabyte's reputation for terrible support and the potential keyboard issues. I don't even necessarily want the dGPU though, literally you could put one of the low power 8th gen quads into the body of a 15X with no dGPU, and I'd be happy. I want the form factor and port selection, that's it. And don't tell me it can't be done in small form factors. I would buy a modernized version of the TT in a heartbeat.
