Intel is being an with this drive. They made the case 9.5mm with the spacer inside the case, and no drawings for it in the documentation unlike the other ones.

Anyone have one of the these? Could you please measure how wide the case halves are?

As in the seam that runs across the whole edge of the drive?

The 330 has two metal "halves" that connect together to form the finished product. Even if there was a spacer inside (I haven't checked), the outside shell will still be 9.5mm in height. Unless you're daring enough to run the SSD with bare electronics exposed to the elements.

is there a reason you're insisting on an intel drive?

It's one of the three brands I trust, certainly the only one I trust with a Sandforce controller. Samsung 830 power consumption is pretty high from my experience with it. Crucial has high power consumption as well from what I've read. Figured I'd try this one since it's pretty reasonably priced and performs well. I may wait since there's supposed to be 335 (change to 20nm and new f/w) coming Q3 this year.

Samsung makes drives that rival (or even best, depending on who you ask) Intel's offerings, and Crucial offers some nice drives as well on the cheap. Honestly, If height's an issue you could go with a 7mm drive, something that all three of those brands make (Intel 320 [actually has an Intel controller instead of Sandforce], Samsung 830 [7mm be default], and 7mm M4).
