Hi NBR folks
So my debate between laptops has pretty much narrowed itself down to 2; the Asus U30JC now or the Asus UL30JT later. I need some advice on the 2 processors of the respective laptops. The U30JC has advertised battery life of 9.5 hours and reviews I have read give it about 7 under web browsing conditions, and that is plenty for me. I also plan to throw a SSD in it almost immediately, so that will help even more.
The question is about performance between them. Will the i3 outperform the i7 because it is a ULV? The reason I wouldn't mind waiting for the UL30jt is the weight difference, but I don't mind carrying around a bit more weight if it means a bit of a performance boost.
For the most part it will just be used for web browsing, but I want SC2 to be playable![]()
Thanks guys

i7 620um is rated at 1.067GHz, with turbo on two cores upto 1.73GHz and on one core upto 2.13GHz with a TDP of 18Watts, 4MB cache, DDR3 800Hz Ram
i3 330m is rated at 2.13GHz with a TDP of 35Watts, 3MB cache, DDR3 1066Hz ram
The i3 will probably out perform the i7, but in saying that the i7 will be should be able to handle SC2 fine, so it depends on if u want battery life(i7), or performance(i3). -
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
The gpu clock speed of the 330M (500-667MHz) is much higher than that of the 620UM (166-500MHz).

ah, what's the price difference between the two processors?

Oh the i7 only clocks to 2.13 on 1 of it's cores? I did not know that...
Hmm I am starting to lean to the U30JC. 8 Hours of battery life is plenty enough for me.
