I have heard about the 5100 dropouts and I have been having wireless issues. What would be a good card to move to?

    I would say the
-Intel 5300, 3x3 speeds but is last generation
-Intel Centrino Advanced N 6200, 2x2 speeds and is this generation
-or the Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300 , 3x3 speeds and is this generation

Either one will be a step up from the 5100. If you need the extra speed, go for the 5300 or 6300. If you just want the cheapest but still good, go for the 6200. I, myself, have this card and it is awesome =D

from what I hear, Intel NICs are the best with reliability and performance. And besides, Intel cards aren't that expensive and if your gonna change your card why not make it worthwhile? (by the way I am not insulting your post in any way)

    5300 works great.
Atheros also great, but make sure you get the ones with equal or greater spec than Intel 5300

i'd say 6200 or 6300... both will be great.. i would stay away from atheros as it doesn't have anything as good as intel.. and i'm quite suprised as my 5100 worked allright... picked up great signal when i used it on the 21st storey where i used to live and on the ground floor where i live now.
