Looking for any feedback on this drive. I'm thinking of using it as my primary in an AW M18x. Online price = $359.00 which is WAY better than dell wanted for the upgrade.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice the SSD sub-forum. Feel free to move this thread.

Personally, 240GB is way to big for my OS and programs,,,80GB is sufficient for me. I put all mt games on a partition in my 2nd drive.
This is how I have done mine:
DRIVE 1) 80 GB mSATA II, unpartitioned
    C:/ Win7 and programs only.

DRIVE 2) 180 GB SATA III, 2 partitions
    D:/ 120GB, for games.
E:/ 60GB, CAD astronomy and editing programs.

    DRIVE 3) 500 GB 7200 RPM
F:/ Just for my movies, music, pron and what have you.

When researching SSDs recently I was very impressed with the Intel 520...it probably would have been my first choice...just a tiny bit ahead of the Samsung 830 I have..but I went for the Samsung because the price was very reasonable for the performance and reliability...and everywhere I looked..the 240GB drive was WAY more expensive than $359.99!! Where are you finding this price? Are you sure it's for the 240GB? If thats the price...I would grab it! In my personal opinion right now for a SATA-3 SSD in the $300+ price range...the top 2 would be the Intel 520 and Samsung 830....followed closely by the Patriot Wildfire...then Crucial M4...

I can remember thinking back in 1986 when I started using AutoCAD, "I'll never fill up 20mb worth of hard drive".

One thing which doesn't sit right with me is that, a month ago intel 520s (240GB) were about 510 dollars, why the hell it went down to 350 in a month?

Maybe they didn`t sell as much as Intel wanted? All the other brands that offer sandforce controllers are around the $340ish price. If I remember correctly the reviews of the drive bashed Intel for pricing it so high too.

Looking at newegg, so far the 520 got very good reviews :)
