Since DDR2 RAM has gotten quite cheap, I was thinking of upgrading my laptop from 2x1GB to 2x2GB. However, I have the older 945 chipset, so I know that my computer won't be able to use all the RAM. However, I was wondering if, because of this limitation, I would also lose the speed benefit of dual channel memory?

    Thanks.

And it doesn't really provide a (noticeable) speed benefit.
