I'm trying to get my XPS 15z to work with the AC 7260 and it's got an error in the device manager. I've installed the latest drivers from Intel and I get This device cannot start. (Code 10). Bluetooth seems to be working fine. Not sure what to do.
Thanks!

What latest drivers? Be specific.
Shut down computer, remove power and battery. Let it sit for half an hour.
Turn on system and see if issue is resolved. If not, do the same as above, but before you shut down - remove the software and remove the device from device manager first.
Good luck. -

Is the 7260 replacing a previous Intel WiFi card?
If so, it's possible that the driver hasn't properly recognised that the card has been changed. You might find it necessary to remove all trace of the previous Intel driver and settings before installing the new card.

Sorry.
The driver is 17.1.0. The card is recognized, Just won't power on. I didn't however try and remove all traces of the old card before installing this one. I'll give it a go. -
I am having problems with the same card in my y580, but mine installed. It just BSOD's the laptop when I launch games.

I tried removing all drivers completely. Removed the battery and unplugged the cmos battery. Rebooted without a wireless card. cleaned out the registry in order to remove the vbox virtual adapters. Shut down again and added the 7260 card and it has the same problem. "device will not start". Any thoughts?

This error code is typically displayed when a non-Lenovo card is inserted into a Lenovo notebook (that doesn't have whitelisting removed) or when a Lenovo card is inserted in any other non-Lenovo notebook.

If OP is into tinkering, you can try use some kind of Linux and see if it works. Linux was said to bypass that stupid restriction. -
Thanks. Sounds like the Lenovo issue might be the problem.

I had the same error code in my Clevo P170EM, after updating drivers from 17.0.5 to 17.1.0 (with 17.0.5 card was working flawlessly).
Try 17.0.5 or 17.0.6 drivers.
