At Computex 2017, Intel announced that its new Core i9 family would add significantly more cores than the old Core i7 HEDT CPU families had ever offered, while pushing back the window on availability for these high core-count CPUs into the fall. Now we know when these updated chips will hit market, and Intel has pulled the dates in from even the October launches we expected earlier this summer.

August 21st, Intel will release the info on coffee lake, 4 core U series is pretty much confirmed, hoping for a 6 core 45W version as well.

I doubt Turbo will be as high as last gen. Expecting HQ turbo to be 3.2GHz for 1 core, 3.1 for 2 cores, 3.0 for 4 cores and 2.8 for 6 cores.

As far as the i9, on topic, nice to see intel up their game, despite some issues....but they are tripping with these prices, pretty much only for the most hardcore enthusiasts, considering there is threadripper now as an option.

I mean, double the price for 2 extra cores.... only for the most hardcore fanboy I'd argue, Enthusiasts would probably just buy an Epyc server at this price point :/
