    Intel Atom safe operating temps

    sorry if this has been askedm i searched and couldnt find anything,

    Does anyone know of the specified safe operating temps from Intel for the Atom? i have some fan control software on my netbook that kicks in the fan at around 63 degs, and with the fan off it idles at around 52

    anyone else got any more on this?

    It is safe at those temps. If the temps start climbing past 70-80 C then start to worry. It won't throttle till around 85C and damage won't occur unless temp exceeds that on regular basis.

    My netbook goes into fan mode at even 30 C :confused: ..Although it runs pretty inaudible

    the thermal specification for the intel atom processor is 90 degress celcius.

    i dont think you need to worry, if it goes too hot, it will underclock itself, or if it really bad, it will shutdown, usually underclock or shutdown at around 100c/120c.
