Basically, Auburndale, the cpu+gpu combo will be 32nm and skip 45nm, and is coming early next year!![]()
BTW these articles have a lot of codenames mixed up.

Ooh, I wonder if this also means their quad core Calpella CPU will also be 32NM.

"45nm production will be kept in place for Pentium and Core 2 Duo/Quad processors for the mainstream crowd, and Core i7 for those on higher end of scale".
Very likely to be 32nm quad core Nehalem processors for laptops Q3 2009. Seems this is the only good thing to come out of the messed up economy.
BTW what about Atom? Is Pineview going to be 32nm too before Medfield in 2010? -
Well, with the state of Intel integrated graphics I'm not sure this was too big a loss. But since when has the focus been on Intel integrated CPU/GPU? I thought AMD was the one that was supposed to be coming out with an integrated CPU/GPU. And with AMD, it might actually be worth getting.

Non games probably don"t care about how powerful the integrated GPU will be, so much as whether it will save power. That said, if the next IGP is as big an improvement as the 4500 was over the 3100, I think people will be happy. Gamers will usually go for a dedicated GPU anyway.
-
Likely not because the integration on Moorestown-derivatives(that includes Pineview) are far more tighly done than mere MCM like approach done on the Nehalem versions. The differences between Moorestown and Medfield is much more significant than Nehalem vs. Westmere.
The X4500 was a disappointment in that the performance increases over the X3100 was not up to Intel's promises. Biggest thing on the X4500 is really the HD video acceleration on the IGP hardware. On another note, the desktop version is getting a refresh with the G45 supporting repeater mode and 24P along with better de-interlacing features. Perhaps this time we can expect a decent IGP from Intel with Nehalem. -
The only source for all this hoopla is this blog:

And he's not a reliable source. So this is all wild speculation off one guy's pipe dream. -
It's actually not. Some foreign sites had the news first. Theovalich is just regurgitating the news.

Forget 32nm, Intel working hard on 22nm!
Intel Auburndale cancelled, 32nm launch coming in Q1 2010!
