My question pertains to the Intel Core 2 Duo Processors. I am looking at getting the HP Pavillion HDX and I desire it being a "future-proof" machine. I don't really play computer games (although there is always that option), but I need the power, screen size, and "portability". I am looking at these 3 processors:

    - Intel C2D T9300 (2.50GHz)
    - Intel C2D T9500 (2.60GHz)
    - Intel C2D Extreme Processor X9000 (2.80GHz)

Is there much of a difference between the T9300 (2.50GHz) and the T9500 (2.60GHz)? Is it worth paying $300 more for the .10 GHz difference? What about the X9000 (2.80GHz)? That's a .30GHz difference from the T9300 processor and costs even more! Of course all putting these in real world use, so I need the best opinions.

Any help appreciated to help clear up these differences!

The top two processors are horribly overpriced. If you live and die by how much heavy processing your PC does, then it would be worth it. But for you and me...no.
