Wich of the two (Intel Centrino Duo or Intel Core Duo) Is the best, and what are the difference's?
-
They're basically the same. Intel Centrino Duo means the laptop has an Intel Core Duo + An Intel Chipset + An Intel Wireless Card...
Intel Centrino (without the Duo) is the same, except it uses either an Intel Pentium M or and Intel Core Solo...
The Core Duo is better than the Pentium M or the Core Solo, because Core Duo is dual core, while the other two are not. Therefore...
Intel Centrino Duo = Intel Core Duo > Intel Centrino = Pentium M or Core Solo -
eRm... They are the same thing. The one that says Centrino is just a sticker saying you bought a more expensive sticker XD
-
If it says centrino duo, then u have the core duo cpu, intel chipset and intel wireless. If it just says core duo, then u have the core duo cpu, but some random chipset and some random wireless.

Centrino is an initiative by Intel to supply the world with a solid framework to build laptops around (and to sell chipsets). Core Duo is a processor. Mostly stolen from Wikipedia:
Centrino is a platform-marketing initiative from Intel, covers a particular combination of CPU, mainboard chipset and wireless network interface in the design of a laptop personal computer. The following are the different generations of Centrino.
Carmel:
Intel used Carmel as the code name for the first-generation Centrino platform launched in March 2003. The Carmel platform consists of:
-Intel Pentium M processor (code named Banias or later Dothan)
-400MB/s FSB,
-Intel 855 series chipset (code named Odem or Montara)
-Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 or later 2200 (IEEE 802.11b) mini-PCI WiFi adapter (code named Calexico or Calexico2).
Sonoma:
Intel used Sonoma as the code name for the second-generation Centrino platform, launched in January 2005. The Sonoma platform consists of:
-Intel Pentium M processor (code-named Dothan)
-533MB/s FSB
-Intel Mobile 915 Express series chipset (code-named Alviso)
-Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 or 2915ABG mini-PCI WiFi adapter (code-named Calexico2).
-Support for DDR2, PCI Express, Intel High Definition Audio, and SATA
Napa:
The code-name Napa designates the third-generation Centrino platform, introduced in January 2006 at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show. The Napa platform consists of:
-Intel Core processor (Core Duo or Core Solo, code-named Yonah) and first-generation Core 2 processors (Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Solo, code-named Merom)
-533MB/s FSB
-Intel Mobile 945 Express-series chipset (code-named Calistoga), an
-Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG mini-PCIe WiFi adapter (code-named Golan).
Intel changed its Centrino branding to include Centrino Duo branding for laptops with dual-core ("Core Duo") processors and retains the Centrino name for laptops with single core ("Core Solo") processors.
Santa Rosa:
The code-name Santa Rosa refers to the fourth-generation Centrino platform, scheduled for release this winter. The Santa Rosa platform consists of:
-Second-generation Intel Core 2 processor (Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Solo, code named Merom)
-800MB/s front side bus that uses Socket P
-Intel Mobile 965 Express chipset (code named Crestline)
-X3000 and 3000 series IGP, Intel's fourth-generation graphics technology
-Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n mini-PCIe WiFi adapter (code named Kedron)
-NAND flash-memory caching (code-named Robson)
-WWAN Internet access via cellular networks (code-named Windigo)
-UEFI, a successor to BIOS.
-hardware-level drive encryption -
ScifiMike12 Drinking the good stuff
Um, I could have sworn that Intel Centrino ment that it had the Core Duo processor + wireless technology and the Intel Centrino Duo was renamed cause it had the newer Core 2 Duo processor.

Centrino has been around since the Pentium M days, ScifiMike. Centrino Duo just denotes the Core Duo being there.

No, that is way diferent. Ferarri's have v-10 and Kis is lucky to get 4.
