Desktop LGA becoming BGA. Atleast they could have made CFL compatible with Kaby Chipset boards.

This is the first side by side B360 vs z370 I've seen, and these guys stumbled on finding that the B360 - at least the MSI model they used - brought gaming scores down 10fps - 30fps!! And, doing this running the same speeds on everything on both motherboards.

Have any of you experienced this type of throttling with a B360 motherboard with your i5's? We tested both i5-8400 & i5-8600K and replicated the results no matter what we adjusted. Actual PC specs are below.

Intel H310C motherboard will completely eliminate H310: (introducing) native support for Windows 7
    http://news.mydrivers.com/1/589/589696.htm

"Skylake six generations of Core +100 series motherboards, Kaby Lake seven generations of Core +200 series motherboards, Coffee Lake eight generations of Core +300 series motherboards ... In addition to constantly updating, many users face a problem is that you can not directly install the Windows 7 operating system, because Intel has no longer provided USB and VGA drivers, which makes the mouse and keyboard and nuclear display unusable.

Fortunately, Intel finally heard the user's voice, ready to launch the new H310C motherboard, also known as H310 R2.0, the biggest change is the native support for Windows 7, and motherboard manufacturers will also provide the corresponding driver.

At present, Gigabyte, Rainbow, etc. are already preparing the H310C motherboard, and will soon be available.

According to the latest information, the H310 chipset and the old motherboard will be discontinued. The H310C will be replaced directly, and the corresponding products will remain at the same price. It is still the first choice for low-end and entry-level systems.

In terms of operating system, Windows 7's current share is still significantly higher than Windows 10, especially in China, and it will not be reversed in a short time, so the life of H310C will be correspondingly long enough.

Of course, Intel will also adjust its product strategy based on the trend of Windows 7 and Windows 10.

As for the B360, there will be Windows 7 version, it is still unknown, guessing is unlikely.

It is also worth mentioning that although the Intel 300 series chipset has been born for so long, in fact, the yield rate has not been high enough. There are rumors that the new Z390 originally planned to use 14nm, and eventually had to return 22nm because of the yield rate problem.

Therefore, Intel still has to keep the 200 series motherboards , of course, because the seven generations of Core must be equipped with 200 series."

This is a "closer to the source" Chinese google auto-translate version, another version is here:

Pesky way to get more money to appeal W7 users. W7 stopped receiving new microcode/feature updates for latest gen intel or amd chips officially.

There are ways around the slow down in support, and there are lots and lots of people that want to, or even need to, run Windows 7 / 8.1... otherwise this exceptional hardware support wouldn't have started.

Plus there is Windows 8.1 support too... hopefully something similar and more wide coverage will occur for Windows 8.1 support on new hardware / CPU's.
