Allright CPU but an SL9000 series CPU is better... SL7100 will be more than enough if your going to ocassionally surf the internet and do office work and see movies...

It'll be fine for day to day computing. Then again, if you're looking at doing some heavy processor work, you probably wouldn't be looking at an X300.

See here for a comparison of CPU performance. Keep in mind too that the X300 locks you into one-gen older technology (X3100 graphics, 965PM chipset). The only storage option is a 1.8" SSD/HDD as the optical drive is a 7.5mm unit. Unless you're getting it for an absolutely crazy good price would suggest looking at a X301, X200, or HP 2530P which combines features of both:

    12.1" US$590 HP 2530P KS093UA SL9300-1.6 2GB 80GB-1.8" DVD GM45 1280x800 VB 1.7/6cell

The 2530P can take a 2.5" HDD in addition to a 1.8" SSD via a 9.5mm sata optical bay caddy.
