Today I ordered a X9100 for my Acer Aspire 8735G. I will OC it with ThrottleStop. Which clocks and core VID are you using for your OC?

This post has some info about what ThrottleStop and an X9100 can do.

Every CPU is unique and what you can get out of your new X9100 will be mostly heat dependent. If you can keep 'er cool, you can get some amazing clocks out of this old technology. Good luck.
no-tech had some good results.

4,2 GHz. Which laptop can handle such a high clock?

When you start overclocking, that's when you start to learn what manufacturers make laptops with adequate or less than adequate cooling and what manufacturers go beyond the bare minimum.
Unfortunately, many Acer laptops fall into the bare minimum category when it comes to cooling. Let us know how your X9100 works out. -

Some notebooks (with quad core CPUs) don't even meet the bare minimum IMO.

Now with TS and undervolting I can prime95 100% stable 90-95C at 2.93 GHz. With my Q9200 at stock I have the same issues as people with the stock Q9000. Normally though I run 2.93 GHz with power saver and cstates enabled.
I should note with TS in upgrading with the zip my Clock modulation on all four profiles went from 100% to 50%. I had to reset them back to 100%. I upgraded from 3.3 to 4.1............. -
The X9100 arrived today, but my new MX-4 not. I used a noname paste to test it. Core 1 is 6°C hotter in games than core 2. I have to repaste the CPU tomorrow with the MX-4. I tested some OC-profiles. Now I am at 3,6 GHz @ 1,2V. In games it is stable, but Prime and Orthos aren't working. 3,73 GHz is too hot in BF3 . Core 1 is at 94-98 °C, but core 2 under 90. About 88°C. I think that will be better with the MX-4. 3,73 GHz @ 1,2625V

Is that OK @ 1,2 V and 3,6 GHz? I have no BSODs so far. On Minecraft + Fraps it works perfectly.
