    Hey All,

I have been searching for about a week online with no conclusion as to which of these 2 processors is best?

    The T2250 is 1.73GHz, and the T2060 is 1.6GHz, Both are 533FSB.

    I found that the T2250 has 2MB L2 Cache, and the T2060 only has 1MB L2 Cache.

Other than that I was unable to find out anything more about these processors. Are they even the same class processor?

Basically, I've found that You can get the same notebook one has the T2250 with 120Gig HDD for $899, and the other has the T2060 with 100Gig HDD for $799.

I was able to get the T2250 version for $699, the T2060 version would have been $649, So I purchased the T2260 version.

I just wanted to find out more about it, Hopefully I made the right choice.

    Thanks all,

    -TheChad

Hmmm, bit of a typo here. If you spent the $50 for the T22 50, I'd say its worth it, assuming you do anything on your laptop that actually taxes the processor. If all you need is something to browse the web when you're on the road, then I suppose the T2060 will work.

I can't quote a source, but I believe the T2060 is based on the original Core archetecture. I don't believe it's 4-bit capable (but the T2xxx series aren't either, so no loss). The best analogy I can think of would be calling the T2060 a dual core Celeron. But that's not quite right either as the Celeron's have fewer features (more stuff is disabled).

In my opinion, every $50 upgrade is worth it on the lower end machines. It's just a matter of if you can fit it into your budget. Once you get to the point where there aren't any more $50 upgrades and you have to spend ~$200 to get to the next upgrade on the processor or RAM, then you have to seriously think if you need that kind of power on a laptop.

I'd say the $50 upgrades are worth it for most people, but the $200 upgrades are not. Is that enough generalizations for you :p ;)

The "Pentium Dual-Core" has misleading naming. It is a Core Duo T2050 with half the cache.

I would go with the T2250. The T2060 has enough power for now, but down the line if you find yourself running more demanding applications (software will get more demanding as time goes on), you'll be glad you got the T2250.

I am a Die Hard AMD fan for YEARS, but I have to say in Notebooks, Intel's have always been faster, and better on power consumption...
