Which 1 is better in terms for gaming?

Both are good CPU's, it depends on which GPU you have.

    In Passmark CPU benchmark:

    740QM: 3626
    3530MX: 3266

I couldn't find the benchmark results for the 3550MX, but the 3530MX is close enough.

But, like I said above, gaming depends more on which GPU you have.

Either is fine. Are you talking using the intergrated GPU or a dedicated GPU with it? If just the one integrated in the CPU then the AMD all the way...

If Llano outperforms Clarkdale on the CPU side of things (is that with an overclock on the A8 or not?), I am seriously impressed. I expected these to perform on par with low-end Core 2 Quads. I'm getting more and more impressed with these things, and can't wait for the first Trinity benchmarks.

Oh thanks. So, the AMD A8 is faster than the Intel i7 740QM? I am not sure what to get. I am deciding which laptop I should get. My friend wants to sell me his 6 month old 2010 version Sony Vaio F series (desktop replacement laptop). My 2nd choice laptop is the new HP dv6z Quad Core edition. Here is the specs.

    Sony Vaio:
    Intel i7 740QM
    Nvidia 330m 512mb (I think)
    4GB ram

    HP dv6z Quad Edition:
    AMD Quad-Core A8-3550MX Accelerated
    1GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7690M GDDR5 Discrete Graphics
    6GB DDR3 RAM

Sorry guys, major typo in my last post. The 3530MX scores 3246, not 4246. Still almost on par with the 740QM.

Sony vs. HP, I'd go with the HP, it has a much faster GPU. In 3DMark06:

    330M: 6437
    7690M: 10099

(Double checked those scores, lol :))

Between those two... definitely the DV6z. That 7690m will mop the floor with that GT330m.

Note that those scores at notebookcheck are the 7690m XT which is more in line with the 6770m, where the 7690m (non XT) is equivalent to the 6750m. But if you look at my OC scores, they're on par with the notebook check scores.

Cant you Crossfire the Onboard Graphics in the A8 with the Discreet 7690M?

    Correct.

However, in performance gain, it depends on the game. Some games run better with just the single card(because of CF issues). At least, that's how it is/was with the Asus K53Ta(6650M + 6620G).

I can`t find any reviews of the 3550MX (or 510MX/530MX). Seems like the reviewers only consentrated on the 3500M and was satisfied. So who knows
