    Hello,
I'm thinking about buying of the HP Zbook 14. Anyway I'm not sure that cpu i7-4600U will be enough for this stuff.

    I don't play any games.
The notebook will be use for development. I'll be using Eclipse, Visual Studio, WP8 development + emulator, MS SQL Server and other components from Visual Studio, etc...

    HP Zbook 14:
    - i7-4600U, 8 GB DDR3L, 256 GB SSD, AMD Firepro M4100, 14" Full HD

Thank you for all yours advice

If you compile code alot...I would not recommend the 4600U. Get a quad core, more RAM.

Whether the i7-4600U is enough for development is really dependent on your workflow and specific projects. I know plenty of code developers using low-voltage i3 and i5 CPUs, but at the same time, I know people who rely on very powerful quad-core desktops.

What computer do you use for your needs right now?

The HP Zbook 14 isn't available with quad-core CPUs. Can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM, though.

The i7-4600U is comparable to an old i7-740QM quad... Haswell has much better architecture etc... Personally, I think its more than enough for coding.. I have a i5-3317u in a Samsung Series 5 ultrabook and its plenty good for running 100-200 line matlab code.. This would burn it to be honest...
