I use the "www.canyourunit.com" website (link in my signature), and whenever I test to see if I can run a game, when I look at my CPU, it says this:
CPU Speed
Recommended (whatever the game requires the GHz to run at)
You have: 2.0 GHz Performance Rated at 4.94 GHz
Why does it say that my 2.0 GHz is rated at 4.94 GHz? And if it's rated at that, does that mean it will run games....lets say...that require 3 GHz to play?
Never understood why it always says it's Rated at ...
Any one shed some light on this subject for me? Thanks.

The rated at is because it is trying to calculate your CPU as a single core processor vs the dual core it has.

Or is that rating system a left-over from the Pentium 4 era when a 2 GHz Pentium M had the performance equivalence of a 3.6GHz Pentium 4? I guess there are still plenty of Pentium 4s in use.
