    which one is better a core duo 1.8ghz or an athlon 1.8ghz?

    Hi,
    Core duo, and it has dual cores so it will multi task much more efficiently. For example in photoshop it can perform some tasks in almost half the time it takes on a single core processor.

    From ur thread im not sure if your referring to an athlon 64, if you are, then the athlon will have the extra feature of being a 64 bit processor, whilst the core duo is only 32 bit. However the new core 2 duo is 64 bit (if i remember correctly)

    Also note that Core Duo is more energy efficient than Athlons (at least for every chip I've looked at).
